Refunds and Returns Policy – Voetstoots Principle

Thank you for shopping with us! We strive to ensure you are satisfied with your purchase. However, in line with our refund and returns policy, we operate under the “voetstoots” principle. This means that all goods are sold as-is, and by making a purchase, you acknowledge that the item is bought in its current condition.

1. No Refunds or Returns

Under the voetstoots principle, we do not offer refunds or accept returns unless the item is found to be defective, damaged, or not as described. This means that once you complete a purchase, it is final, and we are not obligated to offer a refund or exchange if you change your mind, or if the product does not meet your expectations or preferences.

2. Defective or Damaged Items

If you receive an item that is defective, damaged, or not as described, you may be eligible for a return or replacement. However, please note that damage caused by the shipping carrier or through use is not eligible for a return or refund under this policy.

Damaged items will only be considered for a return, exchange, or refund if the damage occurred after the purchase, while under our responsibility (i.e., during handling by our team).

To be considered for a return or exchange, please ensure that:

  • You notify us within 7 days of receiving the item.
  • You provide us with proof of purchase (e.g., order number, receipt).
  • You submit photographic evidence of the defect or damage, ensuring that the damage occurred while under our team’s handling.

Once your return is approved, we will arrange for the return of the product and a replacement or refund (where applicable), subject to stock availability.

3. Conditions for Refunds or Replacements

To be eligible for a refund or replacement under the voetstoots principle:

  • The item must be returned unused, with all original tags and packaging intact.
  • Items that have been altered, washed, or damaged through misuse or improper handling will not be eligible for a return or exchange.

We reserve the right to inspect the returned product before issuing a refund or replacement. If the item is found to be in its original condition, we will proceed with the return or replacement.

4. Exemptions

The following items are not eligible for returns or refunds under the voetstoots principle:

  • Custom or personalized items
  • Sale or clearance items

5. Shipping Costs

If your item is returned due to damage that occurred under our team’s responsibility (post-purchase), we will cover the return shipping costs. However, if the damage is caused by the transporter or through use, you will be responsible for the return shipping costs.

6. Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer. You may still be entitled to a refund, repair, or replacement for faulty goods under applicable consumer protection laws.
